WordByWord reading speed machine

How to use the WordByWord reading speed machine: Set the reading speed and the font size you wish into the two small windows. Size 72 should be suitable for most people and most computers. Paste your text into the box and click on the start button. The words will be flashed in a new window, at the speed which was selected. Please set up your desktop so this window and the text window don't overlap. If you wish to stop the machine while it is in operation, click on THIS web page and click on the STOP button. Please try the following:
1. Vary the speed and find out your personal word by word reading speed.
2. Compare letter by letter reading to word by word reading.
3. Compare line by line reading to word by word reading.
4. Copy and paste the "Regular" text at the bottom of this page and select "Line by line 72" at maybe 35 words/min.
5. Copy and paste the "Phrase boundary marked" text at the bottom of this page and select "Line by line return" at maybe 50 words/min.
6. Compare your experience of 4. and 5. (it's the same content).

Regular text After dinner we went to the theater to see the new Italian movie, but when we got there there was a long lineup. It was pretty cold, so we decided not to wait in line.
